Description
"Iran's Perilous Pursuit of Nuclear Weapons chronicles the Islamic Republic of Iran's efforts to acquire nuclear weapons. It started slowly, building to a crash nuclear weapons program in the early 2000s to manufacture five nuclear weapons and the means to produce many more. Under international pressure and fearful of military attack, the program was driven to downsize and deeper security. Today, Iran does not appear to have a program focused on the actual building of nuclear weapons. Instead, Iran threatens the world with a program ready to produce nuclear weapons "on-demand". Iran's Perilous Pursuit of Nuclear Weapons is a valuable resource for discussions and decisions on creating effective ways to stop Iran's nuclear weapons program." --- From back cover.
