Description
Alice Crabtree Gregory, the main character in this book tells about her life growing up and raising her family on farms in Cheyenne County Kansas where Kansas, Colorado and Nebraska meet at 3-Corners. She takes the reader back to a simpler way to of life as she tells of her family history. This spans years of her childhood through her 100 years of life experience. This book helps a person understand how a positive attitude through difficult times can create a happy and fulfilled life. Alice tells about her interaction with neighbors in the small area she lived in. There are hundreds of family names included of the people who settled in Cheyenne County Kansas by taking advantage of the Homestead Act of 1862. Many of the vignettes included would be a great addition to genealogical research. Much of the information about her ancestors came about because of her years-long search for her Crabtree, Bartlett, Kay, Hughes and Throckmorton connections.
