Description
Just after the Civil War, a wagon train of former slaves, heading west, is attacked by the Crow Indians. A young girl, Sadie, is the only survivor. Her father, one of the Buffalo Soldiers escorting the wagons, and her mother, are both killed. Shes is alone in the middle of Indian Territory. Sadie runs from the massacre and finds a hungry grizzly bear about to eat her for lunch. A sioux hunting party rescues her and takes her to Red Cloud's camp on the Powder River. There she meets Pretty Flower, an Indian girl her own age. Sadie is adopted by the village.
